After a long and careful restoration, the Stresa Residence was opened for business in 2010. It is one of the most charming of the typical period buildings in the Old Town, the so-called “Centro Storico” of Stresa, the Pearl of Lake Maggiore, an ideal location for a holiday or to spend a few days on a business or study trip.
The residence is located in a car-free area, a few steps from the lakeside promenade, the shops and boutiques, the cafés and restaurants. Close to everything you might need yet still tranquil and atmospheric.

Countless sports can be practiced on Lake Maggiore (swimming, canoeing, sailing, water skiing, diving, wind surfing …) and on the slopes of the Mottarone mountain in summer, you can go trekking, mountain biking, paragliding, hang gliding, horse riding and in winter Nordic and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.
From the residence you can walk to the Mottarone cable car which in 20 minutes will take you to the summit from which you can admire not only the spectacular panorama of Lake Maggiore and 6 other alpine lakes but also the Monte Rosa massif with the Alps chain and the Val Grande National Park.
For golf lovers there are several golf courses in Stresa including the historic Alpine Golf Club (one of the oldest in Italy) and the beautiful Des Iles Borromees Golf Club with its panoramic views and 18 holes. Slightly further afield are the golf clubs of Pian di Sole, Verbania, Agrate Conturbia, Bogogno, where you can practice in a beautiful, unspoilt setting.
A few kilometres away is Lake Orta with its marvellous Island of San Giulio and the Sacro Monte (recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), Lake Mergozzo at the foot of the Ossola Valley with its medieval villages and its Walser settlements. The Canton of Ticino in nearby Switzerland, can also be reached with the Lago Maggiore Express service (combination of boats from Navigazione Lago Maggiore and Trenino delle Cento Valli) or with a fast hydrofoil. You can also take a day trip to Macugnaga, to the Toce waterfalls in the Val Formazza, to Val Vigezzo, to the Simplon Pass or even spend a day in Switzerland.
